Sinners
I can't help but talk about my love of Sinners. I remember watching this opening day and I feel the same way I did then. This is why the cinema and filmmaking was created. To give you an experience that will stick in your mind. Sinners grabs on to you and never let's go. The terrific world building in the first half is perfection. It tells you everything you need to understand the universe that this film takes place in. I can't get over Ryan Cooglers writing. Its so well done its like these people have known each other for years. There history is shown just by the characters interactions
I can write a full essay on how talented Coogler is as a director. The first film I saw of his was Black Panther and you could see there how much passion he had and how talented he was. Same with Wakanda forever other elements of the film held them down a little bit but nobody can denie how well directed both films are. This he cranks up his skills by 1000 creating one of the most insane feats in cinema with his camera and filming choices. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to watch this in Imax because this film is a beautiful sight. Autumn Durald is one hell of a talented cinematographer.
Performance wise this film has no performances that were just good there all phenomenal. Miles Caton has such a bright future ahead of him its blinding, Micheal B Jordan gave two brilliantly unique performances for the twins. Even without the opposite colour clothes you can tell which one is smoke and stack, Hailey Steinfeld is fantastic playing the same character so differently in the film and it fits so well like a puzzle, Jack O Connor is so devilishly evil in this a defining performance that the masses will remember for eons. Everyone in this cast is so talented I can't explain.
5 minutes into this rewatch I was crying because how much I love this film. Its intoxicating and just thinking about this film overwhelms me with positive emotions. Cinema at its finest. Cinema at its best
