Superman

It was PERFECT! It’s everything Superman IS and embodies Literally 10000/10 movie Every single casting is perfect, everyone is stripped directly from the comics Nicholas holt is the best lex luthor of all time. The way he was just hating and hating on superman just because!it’s literally lex’ whole personality and it consumes his life, to the point where he points that out to Superman Saying the envy and hate drives him insane and he loves it And David Corenswet IS Superman in every way shape and form, everything down to his mannerisms, voice, body language, EVERYTHING. This movie would genuinely be nothing close to what Superman is without David Corenswet. He brought the best performance to a comic book movie since Chris Evan’s or Robert Downey Jr. It’s like David actually cares about his work and the characters he plays… weird. In my eyes no one will ever live up to David when it comes to Superman. The whole monologue that David does near the end of the film Stuck with me so much it’s tattooed into my brain forever. That is the PERFECT monologue for Superman, That monologue alone can convince the rageful Snyder fans that Snyder was wrong about Superman, he’s not a god he’s a good person trying to be the best person he can and that’s what’s so Super, man… Perfect start to the DCU and to a new era of comic book movies Also the suit is the perfect superman suit of all time I know a lot of people don’t love it, but it’s the perfect example of Superman The bright colorful materials bring out that goofy safe Superman that little kids can look up to. The lines are unnecessary yes but you kinda need them to break the costume up so it doesn’t look all smooth and one with David and the trunks do the same! The “new” crest from kingdom come Is the PERFECT design choice in a superhero movie EVER! Better than rdj’s iron man suit. It works so well because people can believe it’s a symbol that means and radiates hope Easier than a “S”. When the average viewer sees the iconic “S” they see a S that stands for Superman, and that name means and radiates hope sure But this crest could literally be THE symbol for hope. The tone of metropolis is the best it can be, metropolis is supposed to the the bright golden city of hope and this iteration executes this idea perfectly, I like to believe it’s the polar opposite of Gotham City and Superman is the polar opposite of Batman, and that’s why they work so well together, almost like how Clark and Lois do.
