Weapons

was probably my most anticipated of the year and was so not let down. tale of suburbian despair interlaced with supernatural horror. citizens battling their demons individually but together.  first watch in a while that has made me howl with laughter, scream with terror, and shed tears all in one sitting. like would you believe me when i say this has my favourite bit of physical comedy in recent memory? all the things i love from movies like Signs, Gone Girl, The Monkey/Longlegs tied together so neatly. guy in front of me said "this is like Longlegs if it was good" so take that for what you will.
