Burning
Class consciousness, psycho-sexual thriller and poetic metaphors (+symbolism) are all blended in this masterpiece
Lee Chang-dong masters his depressive tone once again in this film presenting a slow paced narrative which puts viewers in a trans-like condition
Those cinematically stunning mediative shots are great but they do not tell us much abiut the narrative and thats my main problem with the film
The runtime is comepletely justified but i think that this film priorotizes style over substance too much
However, I still find Burning to be an unique and very special expirience for me (as it is one of the films that got me to enjoy korean cinema and i watched it more than 10 times), so thats why i think it is:
93/100
