The Proposal

This review contains spoilers. I have no clue why I rated this film so high when I first watched it. Like sure, it's a good film, but a 9.2 was kind of absurd. I genuiely enjoyed the transition from the fake romance to really falling in love - it was very romantic. The naked 'run-in' scene was so funny and sexually tense, it was a major sign of romance to come. Oscar Nunez's character was incredibly funny throughout and I like the was his character was used. Oh, and the grandma (Betty White) faking a heart attack was a great narrative twist and was both funny and unexpected. There were some really sweet moments which I found to be truly beautiful, especially for rom-com standards, were the romance tends to lean much more to the cheesy side - but this film wasn't too bad for this. The ending was way more emotional, and hit way harder than any rom-com should ever do. This film perfectly balances romance and comedy, making a great film.
