Taxi Driver
I'm not a big fan of relogging movies here, but damn, this time was different.
It's the third time I'm watching this movie, and it seems like it's the first time I actually got the whole idea of this masterpiece.
The first two times I watched during Quarantine, so I was just like "Oh I'm literally Travis Bickle, I'm God's lonely man" and in that time this movie kinda conforted me, because the loneliness of Travis is something relatable sometimes (and it should be only that btw) but only this time watching I felt the real agony this movie tries and succeds in expressing, this New York that looks like hell, a main character that is crazier than the Joker, and makes you ask yourself sometimes: "Why am I admiring this guy? He's completely lost in his ideas". And thats one of the motives why this is one of my favorites.
Also... the MUSIC, THE FUCKING MUSIC. I added the jazz that plays throught the whole movie on my Spotify, this song always reapeting itself giving the feeling of the same things happening over and over again, absolutely fantastic.
And the last thing, that got me questioning since the first watch, the end, maybe I didn't get it, maybe you decide, but for me, everything happened, except for Betsy in his taxi in the end, giving the message that you cannot always get what you want in the end, even if you saved someone's life.
This film is perfectly directed, acted and produced, and inspires a lot of nowadays movies too, like "Joker".
What an experience.
