Zootopia 2

maybe this is coming out of my social policy professor brain but I love how these movies will just keep discussing themes of coexistence, diversity, and (I guess) urban planning. is it different enough from the first though? well, it’s different in that this one’s about gentrification/colonization and greed, but we again end up with a “diversity is important!” speech. in parallel, the judy-nick relationship dimension sometimes feels forced. maybe I’m complaining too much, I really did love the movie references, the puns were cool, and they made the lizards hilariously weird and the lynxes deeply villainous. animators playing pristine attention to the random NPCs in the background and giving them personalities and memorable moments will always get me.  also are they…not…into each other…?
