Inception
Top tier stuff right here. I cannot believe it’s took me as long as it has to watch this, truly remarkable filmmaking by the Sir Christopher Nolan.
I mean wow, where do I even start. I was expecting this insanely confusing project that’s sort of expected when watching a Nolan film, but this managed to find that perfect balance and allowed itself to be a complete mind fuck yet still be comprehensible once it all concludes. It takes a genius to be able to comprehend this story never mind make it work, and that’s why he’s arguably the greatest filmmaker of our generation, truly sensational.
Cobbs’ character is one of the best written characters I’ve seen throughout Nolan’s work, this imperfect and vulnerable character that you grow to understand and sympathise for with this immense emotional depth that his character carries. Easily one of my favourite roles DiCaprio has played as of right now.
It’s visually spectacular, there is about 30 scenes I could pick at that had me genuinely blown away at, helped with that tremendous Hans Zimmer score.
