Parasite
Fucking hell that was good.
I’ve finally watched this film and I’m so happy I have, a film that dives into social inequalities and wealth disparity in a splendid way, I can’t express enough how brilliant this.
A film that starts off with a couple of funny moments and a little beginning to the plot, slowly creeps into this slow building, tense, thrilling and dialogue heavy story about a rivalry between two poverty stricken families fighting for the scraps that the Park Family are willing to offer for their services. That last hour of pure excellence is one of the best examples of filmmaking I’ve seen in a very long time.
During said last hour Guen-Say becomes this fantastic and genuinely terrifying villain thriving on revenge and makes for a fantastic story, even if it’s only short. Ki Woo (the father) very quickly became one of my favourite protagonist recently with his thrilling and heartbreaking story.
