shoutout to my local theater, you shabby old beautiful thing !!! can't believe i was able to watch this. GUILLERMO DEL TORO WHEN I GET YOU. halfway through i started crying because i suddenly choked on air (had nothing to do with the movie) then kept crying for the rest of the duration (had everything to do with the movie). also, ozymandias? holy shit. i love cinema i haven't yet read or seen any of the previous iterations (definitely want to now) but i'm glad this was my first one. gdt transformed such a famous, heartrending story into one of his own, and it's so full of his color in every way. i'm always looking forward to completing the rest of his filmography, the man just gets it.
