Star Wars

Every time I watch this I love how pure it feels, totally unrestrained with the world crushing heaps of lore that have been built up ever since. Leia being an actual princess. C3po and r2d2 just being two cranky dudes in the wrong place at the wrong time. Han petting Chewie like a dog. So many small details that now seem out of place make me wish for a world where people actually just enjoy this strange fantasy galaxy without getting insanely upset about rules and details as if it’s all based on true events.  Probably a hot take, but I honestly don’t think any new revelations made post-Empire to provide new backstories and relationships to these characters, have actually improved anything.  I love ‘Star Wars’ the franchise. But it’s become a convoluted and soulless mess.  * * Star Wars the 1977 film is everything but, and it’s become fairly unappreciated because of the subsequently unending franchise, that has blinded people to the lightning in a bottle that George Lucas created (before he lost his mind).
