Moon Knight
Episode 1
A lot of interesting choices, most of which I loved, a few I kinda hated. The dialogue is mediocre but servicable, but the camera work is fantastic. It's very dynamic and creative, with some good uses of color, contrast, and darkness. The acting all around us good, I just wish they were working with better dialogue. The CG effects are fine, but noticeable and unconvincing. It pretty much has all the same Marvel problems but with some really intersting ideas to balance it out. I just hope they get expanded on so they overshadow those problems. Anyway, here's some more specific thoughts on the episode. I thought the overall plot was good, these are just my thoughts on how the plot was executed, no spoilers
The opening scene sets the tone and introduces Ethan Hawke's character very well and is probably my favorite of the episode. The first half is a mixed bag, but it's bogged down by some truly terrible soundtrack choices. It's good for introducing us to Steven Grant, but not much else. The dream sequence is a middle point both in the story and in the quality. The action was unconvincing but cool in concept, however Ethan Hawke was phenomenal! I loved pretty much everything after the dream sequence and the final seen is a close 2nd for my favorite scene.
