i think i finally figured out why i like this movie so much. none of the female characters are villainized despite their roles that regularly are. there is the pregnant teen, the stepmom, and the 'controlling' wife and somehow this film shows them as complex characters rather than putting them in their respective boxes. it's so refreshing and unlike most movies. i mean they somehow don't even villanize the girl who is protesting outside the abortion clinic. it is so clearly written by a woman and i love it so much. i wish there were more movies like this.
