I don’t know , it roiled in confusion , and the driving forces of the story are a bit cloudy or recursive . Not that I disagree with confusion as a mode but im not totally convinced that was the intention? I’m also not totally convinced this second movie needed to exist ? so convince me more ?

enjoy the pacing and tone — baby matt

Very interesting , and beautiful scenes , I dream of the steppe

I very much enjoyed this , though for different reasons than I often look at movies, and those reasons probably bump up my personal rating. This is a book I read as a kid, by a Portland author, about Portland, made into a movie by a now legendary Portland studio, who cares above all for craft … there were some details that killed me . The story movements were expectable, the angles not necessarily surprising … but that’s not what I watched it for . What I watched it for was 16 years , which means when they started making this film, I may not have even read the book yet . What I watched it for was the love letter that it is . I hope my gut is wrong — I hope it’s not a farewell letter too.
