Wildwood
I very much enjoyed this , though for different reasons than I often look at movies, and those reasons probably bump up my personal rating. This is a book I read as a kid, by a Portland author, about Portland, made into a movie by a now legendary Portland studio, who cares above all for craft … there were some details that killed me . The story movements were expectable, the angles not necessarily surprising … but that’s not what I watched it for . What I watched it for was 16 years , which means when they started making this film, I may not have even read the book yet . What I watched it for was the love letter that it is .
I hope my gut is wrong — I hope it’s not a farewell letter too.
