Regular Lovers
*a quiet film, which from the picture was initially immersed rather in a political context, gradually turns into the uncertainty of human feelings caused by it, a lack of understanding of oneself, what love is and how it is actually expressed. the style is influenced by the post-revolutionary films of the early 70s, which emphasize sincerity, an almost sentimental deep expression of feelings, and attempts to comprehend the continuing evolution of society. It certainly feels inspired by 'The Mother and the Whore,' which I absolutely admire and which is one of my favorite films of all time. In general, there is a significant amount of reference made to the cinematic culture of the mid-20th century. hearing about Pasolini was a joy for me as someone who has a deep passion for his art. and Louis Garrel's face and cinematic energy are, naturally, works of art in themselves, and something that can be used to create endless poems.this film, as well as the recently viewed ‘The Inner Scar*', piqued my interest in Philippe Garrel as a director and gave me the impression of his cinematic style as being very unhurried, filled with a love of creativity, and prone to experimentation, and I certainly would like to verify out more of his other work in the future.
thank you for recommending me this one 🖤
