Twitter will have you watching the craziest shit

I’m sad I didn’t like this as much as I thought I would, I got a Criterion subscription just to watch it. I can appreciate its craftsmanship but beyond the mystery I didn’t particularly care about anything going on. I understand it’s supposed to evoke a feeling of existential dread but tbh i just feel kind of neutral. I think I need to rewatch this

this movie must feel like Black Panther for furries

Still think this should’ve won Best Picture in 2021. I find myself sobbing every time I get to the climax of Minari. Really my only issue is that you can kinda tell Steven Yeun isn’t a native Korean speaker based off his accent and it takes me out of the experience. His character in the film speaks kind of broken English anyway so I wonder at the point why they didn’t just cast an actor from Korea. Perhaps they needed a familiar face to sell to American audiences. Just a small detail but an otherwise great film.
