Minari
Still think this should’ve won Best Picture in 2021. I find myself sobbing every time I get to the climax of Minari.
Really my only issue is that you can kinda tell Steven Yeun isn’t a native Korean speaker based off his accent and it takes me out of the experience. His character in the film speaks kind of broken English anyway so I wonder at the point why they didn’t just cast an actor from Korea. Perhaps they needed a familiar face to sell to American audiences. Just a small detail but an otherwise great film.
