Master
an ambitious film that brings together two powerhouse performers, vijay and vijay sethupathi, under the stylish direction of lokesh kanagaraj. while it delivers in terms of mass appeal and action-packed moments, it doesn’t completely hit the mark for me.
on the positive side, the film thrives on its lead actors. vijay is charismatic as jd, effortlessly blending humor, action, and swag. vijay sethupathi, as bhavani, is the real highlight, calm, menacing, and a refreshing antagonist. their eventual showdown is satisfying, though i wish there were more direct confrontations between them. anirudh’s music is a major plus, with tracks like vaathi coming and kutti story adding energy to the narrative.
however, the film drags, especially in the first half. the college portions feel overstretched, and some supporting characters don’t get enough depth. the second half is stronger but follows a predictable path. for a lokesh kanagaraj film, i expected a tighter screenplay and more innovative storytelling.
overall, master is a decent entertainer with great performances, stylish action, and a fantastic soundtrack, but it doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. a tighter script and a more engaging first half could have made it much better, both narrative and entertainment wise
