I first watched this show back in 2020. Way before I started to log any movies or series I watched back then. With the way things were in 2020, I understood why a show like this would appeal to someone like 16 year old me. Detachment. A **state of separation between persons or groups.** The setting of this movie involves a school in a poor/not so well-off district. Teachers doing their best to help these student and whatever problems they have but they too have grown tired and is mostly tolerating what the students pull. Such examples are students ignoring their teachers and the such. The problems lies with the parents as not many turned up on parents night. Parents who are pushing their problem child to these teacher and hoping they teachers could fix them. Henry Barthe’s childhood, he saw his mother overdosed and died nude in their bathroom. It was implied that his grandfather got drunk and beat Patricia, his daughter and Henry’s Mother because Henry was advised to lock his door every night. He was not angry at his grandpa, he seems to have forgiven his grandpa and didn’t want his grandpa to die with regrets knowing he was the cause of Patricia’s death. One thing about Henry as a character and his motto is. Children should not have to experience tragedies as they grow up. Though his character is not upbeat and upfront caring, Henry cares about these kids and students. He does his best to help them out in whatever way shape or form. Take Erica and Meredith. Erica was a teen prostitute sucking people of whoever were willing to give her money so she could survive. She followed Henry because he looks like someone who has money but he took care of her. Gave her food and shelter as well as happy memories symbolized by the ring she bought for him. Meanwhile Meredith felt truly seen by Henry and may have infatuation towards him. When she didn’t get the answer she wanted from Henry and the other teacher came in, it felt like it didn’t went out the way she hoped for.

When I think of Musical Theater Shows, I think Moulin Rouge! best encapsulate the Visuals as well as the storytelling. Since it was released in 2001 and before I was born, it was not that obvious to me that they were using popular songs before 2001 until I heard Madonna’s Material Girl as well as other popular but familiar sounding tune. This is my first Jukebox Musical and the movie impressed me, that musical does not always need to have original songs to be considered a musical movie. As for the storytelling, and the leading actors, I think they are casted quite well. Christian especially, he has this yearning voice which I think suits the theme of the movie and how badly he wants to be with Satine. Zidler is also great, I love his introduction the most and his intro rap. Zidler is probably one of my favourite characters since he really tried his best to accommodate and protect Satine but I also understand that he has his own selfish needs which is to protect and make money from Moulin Rouge and an investor to satisfy. I like the I am a Virgin part of the movie, it was comedic and memorable to me. Also him helping out Satine, when the Duke saw Christine with her and the other guys who was with Christine and it turned to one of the more iconic moment of them coming up with a story on the spot to satisfy the duke. One of my most favourite moments is obviously when Christian and Satine are together and they start singing. Christian is such a yearner man.

This movie is to dedicate and thank the frontline workers, who did their best to help the Malaysian citizens see through the pandemic. It follows the story of 4 characters and their roles during the pandemic. The pandemic is a real life inspiration so seeing some of this stories being played out especially some roles that I didn’t think had it that hard as the police really opened my eyes. That was such a challenging and tumultuous time for everyone, whether they would live or die by the virus. Seeing it in a film like this, maybe someone in the future who sees this film and never lived through the pandemic, would think oh it’s just a virus and see this film and how people lived through such hard times even if it doesn’t feel like it. This would be one of the good films for future generations to watch especially the ones who didn’t live through the pandemic.

The movie is obviously animating parts of the story that didn’t fit into the anime seasons, but it’s also like a recap movie and is for people who loves assassination classroom. Which is me obviously. I love the 3 student stories, my favourite being Meg’s and Maehara’s storyline. Also love the storyline of how Koro-Sensei spent his winter break while his students come to terms with his past. Honestly, they really executed the part well where the blind mother, Azusa regained her sight after Koro-sensei removed her tumor. When I read the manga, it felt like whoa, she’s the only person to see his human form and it was amazing.
