Gladiator
I guess I'm no better than those romans in the audience, cause I was very much entertained.
Films like this make me feel alive;
They're so epic, whimsical, and full of adventure.
- The story was great, but the action in all the colosseum scenes was just incredible.
- The entire ending was absolute peak.> *And now we are free. I will see you again... but not yet... Not yet!*
- Commodus is easily the best and most interesting character for me.
Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job.
And that goes for most of the actors here, to be honest.
- Huge praises for the CGI.
This film is 25 years old, and yet it looks miles ahead of even some of today's movies.
It really brings the magic into this film.
Rome feels grand, lived-in, like a city with actual depth.> The heart of Rome is not the marble of the Senate, but the sand of the Colosseum.
I only have one nitpick, and that is the few random slow-mo shots that interrupt some scenes.
But I kind of don't get all the other criticism for this movie.
Just because a film is set in a historical period doesn't mean it needs to be accurate. Look at Indiana Jones.
Or somehow the main actor's accent is a problem when we're literally watching ancient romans speak english anyway, like be fr?!> Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?
