Marty Supreme
I guess you just gotta want it. Whatever IT may be for you in life, you have to get there by any means possible.
And it doesn't need to be nearly as ambitious or destructive as shown in the movie. It can be anything from changing how you think or act or dealing with trauma to moving to a different place or building a family.
Now, I've finally seen Marty Supreme in good quality since it came out digitaly.
I honestly think it's the most chaotic of the Safdie 'stress trilogy'. And I don't mean it as a flaw. That's the point of their style, and I think this one had the most tension and problematic situations.
I really liked the score. It's unique and able to create a wondrous feeling.
I love the entire ending of this movie, and I think it's perfect. The final match between Endo and Marty was great. And that win felt really relieving after watching him fail at most of his previous goals.
Of course, Marty was a problematic person who did a lot of wrong to others. That's why the last scene leaves you hoping that being a father will alter his carelessness for them. So if you were to take just one thing from this movie, I think it wouldn't be so bad for it to be his deep pursuit of dreams.
They're pure, just like hope. And ideals like these are basically the sole motivation for our lives.> *- And what do you plan to do if this whole dream thing of yours doesn't work out?*
- That doesn't even enter my counciousness.
