Not because anything particularly emotional happened, but because Tom Cruise climbed up a rope to commandeer a helicopter in air. Some of the most beautiful IMAX sequences I've ever seen and I'm watching them all digitally on a 50 inch TV!!! JULIA APPEARING ONE FINAL TIME AND HELPING THE TEAM!!! LUTHER BELIEVING IN ETHAN UNTIL THE VERY LAST SECOND!!! I LOVE THE MOVIES!!! 30 days! One whole month of watching at least one film every day! Technically have seen this before, but at the time I was like 12 and hadn't seen a single M:I movie before, so everything is new to me again. They fucking got me with the mask twist an hour and a half into this film! Some of the best swerves I've ever seen, I was jumping out my seat in joy. Angela Bassett on FaceTime killed me. This is probably now one of my favourite films ever. Ethan Hunt is such a shockingly charming character. I love the whole IMF crew so much. Christopher McQuarrie, you fucking genius. The HDR presentation on Stan and the Dolby Vision presentation on Disney+ are both botched for various reasons (this applies for the whole franchise on both), but Apple TV rentals got my back. Real good Dolby Vision! Actually popping Specular highlights! High bitrates! Thank god. HE'LL GET IT DONE.
