i tried to get my friend into this movie seeing as they missed its cinema debut and although they didn’t care for anything longer than half an hour, i took it as a chance to rewatch and i’m so glad i did. (funny how zombies 4 inspired a vampire watch but anyways) watching it twice in its initial run was something special in itself but a decrease in screen size and sound quality had little to no effect purely because of how good this is. i said at the start of the year how i knew that this would receive many oscar nominations and a few months later i feel ever stronger about it now. the cinematography was actual art, ryan cooler doesn’t play around when it comes to his craft and he proved that to us with black panther and now sinners. the original score was also so nice to hear once again, ludwig göransson was the perfect pick because the songs have been on repeat for me and sparked tiktok trends since its release. on a side note i’m so excited to see what he brings to the odyssey next year. i couldn’t end this without mentioning how perfect the cast were throughout this, miles caton is really gonna go places in future and on rewatch this has brought back my love for the rest of the cast like michael b. jordan, jack o’connell, hailee steinfield and wunmi mosaku. gonna have to get myself a physical copy of this at some point soon bc i’m now obsessed again. 2025 ranked
