Pixels
In 2015 Adam Sandler came together with Josh Gad, Kevin James, and others to create Pixels, and it somewhat delivers. I thought this movie was very enjoyable and I had a laugh at most the jokes on here. I found it to be paced rather well and it was a fun concept, you could tell the people involved had a lot of fun making this movie. This movie definitely had funding because the CGI on here was really good. Now although I do have good things to say about this movie, I also find it to be not the best. I think the story is good enough to make sense but I felt like the story was moving the characters along and not the characters moving the story. Like they were constantly fed information and they were always at the right moment at the right time, leaving to the story feeling kind of flat in a sense. I found there to be reasonable emotional depth especially with Sam Brenner and Violet van Patten but not enough time to resonate with that emotional depth to make it really emotional for the audience. The acting was pretty good and it felt like it was just friend's getting together and making a movie, which I liked, they didn't take themselves to seriously. But this also led to the problem that when they did take themselves seriously, it felt wrong, or silly. Overall, this movie is a fun watch with redeeming qualities like the comedy but it also had some problems with it as well.
