Thunderbolts*
In 2025 Marvel came out with a movie featuring all the unexpected anti-heroes in the MCU, Thunderbolts*, and it absolutely delivers. I absolutely adore this film and I think this is definitely one of the best projects Marvel has put out. I want to start off with the scenes themselves, I thought they looked beautiful and I loved the dark and gritty color pallet, I thought it really symbolized how this team isn't the perfect set of heroes, they're misfits. I loved the settings, I thought the scenes in the desert looked great, along with the city scenes as well. I absolutely loved all the characters in this movie, I thought it did a really good job at having the audience care for every single one. I also felt like they were relatable and grounded, I felt more care and sympathy for these heroes than I've ever felt for the Avengers, which I loved. I loved the overall messaging in the movie, I think the topics they covered in the story was great and I loved how it played such a crucial role. I loved the pacing in this movie, I thought everything was paced well and nothing felt too choppy. I loved how the final battle wasn't some grand fight but instead a conceptual demonstration that coincided with the themes of loneliness and depression, I thought it was very refreshing. I also liked how they had scenes where they were saving civilians, I just think that it's cool because I don't think I see that highlighted to much in superhero movies, there are exceptions though obviously. I thought the acting was great, along with the action scenes as well. I thought the CGI was used rather well and didn't take away from my experience, which superhero movies tend to do for me. I loved the dynamics with everyone in this movie, I thought the team fit so perfectly together. I also really liked the comedy and thought it was used so well, I did laugh at some of the jokes. Overall, I thought this movie was very refreshing and I can't wait to see more of them.
