Blade Runner

A paradox between the individualism gained in modernity and the consequential alienation of oneself with this new found individuality.  How can one differentiate themselves from others? What makes us different? How are we different?  … I really enjoyed this a lot more on second watch. If you strip it back of your predetermined expectations and really sit with the film you can appreciate it for what it is. On first watch for example, I came in expecting a cyber punk action thriller based off of posters and the film title. And obviously when I watched it I was disappointed. Also reading the book ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep’ by Philip K. Dick really allowed the main thematic points to marinate with me before I approached the film.  The score was amazing, the set design obviously influential and immersive, and the acting subtle bit effective.
