86 EIGHTY-SIX
We won’t forget
Even on a second watch this doesn’t fail to make me emotional while watching.
I’ve grown incredibly attached to the characters while rewatching, even to those that got killed off in the first half.
Talking about it, I’d say I enjoyed the first half slightly more then the second. Not to say that the second half wasn’t ridiculously good and I didn’t even mention that it delivers two of my favorite anime episodes of all time back to back right at the end, but I just liked the larger cast and it’s dynamic, the way the survivors of Spearhead Squadron live the beginning of their freedom and the politics we see at San Magnolia just slightly more then the Giad stuff.
Also I’m not too crazy about Frederica. Again not necessarily a bad character, she definitely has her moments, but she wasn’t as interesting and likable to me as the rest of the bunch.
Then definitely worth a special mention is the Sound Design. The sfx sound great, as well as the voice acting but what sticks out for me the most definitely was the soundtrack. I swear, every time Voices of the chord or Avid started playing I almost started levitating, crying or both.
Overall one of the best anime oat and it should be in the same discussions as stuff like Attack on Titan or Full metal Alchemist.
