BEEF
A toxic mess with (some) hopeful ups and many many, increasingly devastating lows for the characters.
I love how everything continues to escalate, the beef starting at petty, admittedly funny and creative, antics and by the end, there were people actually dying as a result of it.
But what carries this show are the two main characters, who are both acted incredibly well, with especially Steven Yeun giving one of his bets performances to date in my opinion, because him and Ali Wong bring out the best in each other.
What makes these two characters so interesting is, that both of them are deeply unlikable people, who do really horrible things to each other and the people around them, but you still want them to succeed and just be content, to get that happy ending.
But in the end, they don’t. And that’s the best ending I could’ve asked for, the best ending for the kind of story, that this is.
