The Raid

Probably the best action put to the big screen Man this was a fun watch. I was looking forward to watching The Raid, since I only heard positive things about it. So I went in, knowing what it was about and was in total shock for the entire runtime. The obvious thing everyone likes to gush about is the action. And now I understand why. Every hit, kick or action in a fight has meaning and you can really feel it, the environment is used incredibly, leading to some brutal deaths, the actors all are crazy good fighters and it doesn’t look like they are pulling their punches. Add to that, that you can’t tell how each fight is going to end since Plot armor isn’t really a thing in this movie. But the most important and impressive thing about the action scenes for me is, that you always know, which characters are fighting, you have an overall idea how much each character has already been hit and hurt and you always know where everyone is. Another part of the action I want to mention are the rare gunfights. The last point I made and the sheer brutality of them makes them incredibly great. So obviously the action is incredible, but what about the story? Well it has a pretty generic plot of ,,Police squad must catch bad guy“ but the setting and build up really fits the Action it wants to convey. Also it has some small twists and turns, which is a pleasant surprise. Overall I really loved this and am watching forward to part 2
