Finally getting into the stuff I started this rewatch for. Definitely one of the mcus most interesting projects because it has some genuinely cool ideas here. The sitcom stuff is great adding in the tragic emotions behind it gives it all a very unsettling tone. The first half of the show is just really good peak mcu stuff and then it slowly peters out once you reach the conclusion and they show their hand story wise. I think the core mystery of “what’s going on and why is this happening?” Is engaging but there’s a bunch of random bullshit red herrings that never get a satisfying ending. Like the Evan peters Ralph boner thing was and is one of the most baffling things in the mcu and felt like the writers spitting on me. Like you cast Evan peters don’t make me feel stupid for thinking he’s quicksilver you know what you see doing. But that and Agatha’s inclusion feels disjointed and tacked on. But ultimately pretty solid. The first 5 episodes are really good and man the week to week discussions about this show was some of the best time to be a marvel fan even if the ending is weak.
