i’m writing this the day after watching the movie because i needed time to truly process what i just watched, to me, this had to be the most raw, authentic and vivid love story i’ve ever seen, now i’ve come to appreciate slow burners even more thanks to how this movie was filmed (that vending machine shot is to die for), as for the characters, they truly set the stage for this long adventure of self-discovery and yearning.God bless kayako’s kind and gentle soul since love is such a complicated emotion but being able to break it down through these characters was just such a mind boggling thing to see. i’m definitely going to rewatch this movie and tears will be shed the second time around.
