This was such a fever dream but in the best way possible. A man loves his wife. That’s the whole film, really.Kitano says almost nothing for 90 minutes and somehow makes you feel everything. Every still frame looks like it was painted, and some of them literally were. The compositions hold so much quiet grief it almost hurts to look at them.I didn’t expect to be this moved. I’m still not entirely sure how it happened.Some films you watch. Some films happen to you.
