Train Dreams

This was insanely good. The use of the camera was perfect, I loved nearly every shot and the use of the negative spaces in them mmmm so good. I broke down multiple times in the theater next to complete strangers who did the same. Acting and writing 10/10.  “We are but children on this earth pulling out the screws on the Ferris wheel” shook me. William Macy was my favorite character in this movie and I wish he got recognized as the all star he was in this The only thing keeping it from a 5 for me is some of the narration. Show don’t tell is still fundamental film making for a reason, and while I don’t think it actively hurts the story I just wish Dir. Clint Bentley let the audience figure more out for themselves rather than explain every aspect he did. YE OLD SAW MILL
