Bring Her Back
𓏴 ࣪ story & plot 🎬 ⠀⠀
The typical occult movie with a bit less supernatural stuff. A lot of cliches, but put together they're pretty good. I wish it would have a happy ending instead of this one, because it leaves me so angry and unsatisfied. The plot with Ollie and him taking in other people's voices was so nice.
♰⠀ 𓈒 ⠀ cinematography & visuals ✙
They did really good with the body horror. It was so realistic and bloody and disgusting. Perfect. Did it make me wanna throw up? Yes. Did I look away? Yes. But it was so well made. If it makes me want to look away, it means something. The table eating scene was actually fascinating. Ollie eating his own flesh was so chilling.
( 🍿 ) —— sounds & music
The sound tracks are really nice to listen to. Especially the one at the end with the pool scene. Sounds so sad and scary.
࣪ ۫𓂅 directing & pacing . ⟢
The team did a really good job. I was really really confused at some parts of the story, but I think maybe that was for the better. Because at the end all puzzle pieces connected and I understood each flashback.
᠃ ᠌acting 📽 casting 𓍢 ::
I honestly expected bad acting cause that's the case for most horror movies. At least one actor does a bad job. But in this one all actors were so good at their job. The woman actually did her job so well that I hated her guts and wanted to choke her through the screen. If an actress can make you hate her charactersp so utterly, you know she did well.
[ ▶︎ ] extra ノ overall ranking ↻
I know my ranking isn't high, but I did really think the movie is good. I just wouldn't be able to watch it again because it has such deep impact and is actually pretty heavy with the gore. Huge credit to the actors tho.
★ · 🎟️ summary ⛶
This movie is unrealistic in some aspects of course. The demon is a little much. But it actually shows pretty well how far motherly love can go and how much psychosis and mental health can harm you when you lost someone close. How quick you can lose trust in your loved ones and trust the wrong person.
