Wonder Man
A fairly normal story set in the MCU, and honestly, that’s a good thing. It knows the world it’s in and doesn’t try to overcomplicate itself or hide behind constant spectacle. It just tells the story properly.
It’s got style too. A clear tone and identity that actually makes it stand out. I went in expecting a weekly drop, realised it was all out at once, and suddenly I finished the whole show without meaning to.
What really sells it is how character driven it is. There is characters with real depth, which feels weirdly rare for the MCU at this point. The chemistry between the two leads is genuinely sincere, both performances are strong, and nothing feels forced.
Even the comedy works. It lands consistently, but without the usual MCU quip style. It’s more situational, more character based, and it never undercuts the emotional moments with the humour.
Proof that the MCU still works best when it slows down and lets its characters breathe.
