Funny Games

Funny Games is an almost unbearable, suffocating art experiment of a psychothriller. Disgusting and gruesome as this film is, only one moment of violence is actually shown. Still, it’s incredibly unsettling and nerve-wrecking from beginning to end. The two antagonists are overly polite the whole time, and it fucks with your head, kind of in a good way, for the movie, I guess. There are moments where the fourth wall is broken in a very specific and unexpected way, but I won’t give too much away, as this is very special for this movie. It may not entertain—but it disturbs, provokes, and sticks with you. Still, for its significance in film history, I'd urge you to watch it.
