Inside Out 2
Inside Out 2 dives back into the mind of Riley, now a teenager caught between friendships, expectations, and the onset of puberty. With new emotions like Anxiety entering the mix, the film becomes a chaotic, vibrant battle for control with the voices in her head. What begins as a comedy of internal disarray slowly deepens into a reflection on identity formation and emotional complexity. In his feature debut, Director Kelsey Mann delivers a surprisingly mature and sharply observed portrait of adolescence, where joy and fear no longer exist in neat compartments. The film captures the fragility of self-worth in the turbulent storm of puberty, where emotions clash and the rules of childhood no longer apply. While its tone stays light, its emotional resonance lingers. The film is nearly perfect; if anything, it stretches ever so slightly in the middle. Still, it made me laugh a lot, especially in the first half, and left a strong impression overall. Pixar proves it can still deliver great animation even in today's landscape.
