Sinners
i watched this earlier for the fourth time with my sister again.
i always get so emotional whenever the scene where in mary and stack talks to sammie in the bar and sammie got so old but mary and stack didn't. it makes me think about all the things they had to go through. and whatever they do, they'll end up dead in the end anyways. dead in the hands of monsters or dead in the hands of men that's crueller than monsters.
i really really love this movie with all my heart and all i am because of how much it represents how the black community had to suffer from slavery and racism but also for how strong they are that after all they've been through, they remained happy and one as a community through their culture and their beliefs. it's just sad and cruel that even after all those years, some of them still go through racism that their ancestors experienced and had fought for.
i wish a lot of people sees the movie the way i see it. it's more than just a horror movie. it's more than just vampires. it's about how black people had to endure how people treat them just because of what they look like.
#comfort films#w/ my sister#i'd recommend this to everyone i know
