The path for gender affirming care is fraught with winding paths that require careful navigation in terms of language in order to reach ones transition goals. It’s a rough path with the very analysis needed in order to get the medication is often the very thing preventing people from getting the care that they need, as a lot of these metrics are observed and handled by cisgender people who don’t have the same innate understanding of gender that a lot of trans individuals do. This film, with its intercut sketches of a gender affirming care clinic amidst interviews with the actors and crew of the sketches does an incredible job of comparing and contrasting the different avenues for care in a way that validates the frustrations and celebrates what victories there are to be had
