Sinners

Finally saw this a year after everyone else did. In all honesty, I loved it but I expected more. It’s a great film I just couldn’t get over how strange the pacing was. We were so locked in on Sammy and then the vampires come and about 2.5 seconds later the vampires are defeated and everything is great again. I would’ve totally supported a longer and more drawn out version of this film. With all this being said, the characters and especially the acting is nothing short of exceptional. Michael B Jordan’s performance(s) will never cease to be talked about. This also captured the period perfectly from the large scale sets down to very small details like segregated grocery stores run by Asian Americans. I enjoyed every second of the film. My favorite scene was the dancing scene when different eras of black music were portrayed. I thought it was a great touch to the theming of the movie. Ryan Coogler did a phenomenal job and I can’t wait for the next film.
