The plot. The nods to The Wizard of Oz chef’s kiss This is a Certified Movie™️ I’m so glad Ti West released this as a prequel. The way they shot each film perfectly accentuated the setting’s (and Pearl’s) deterioration from Pearl to X. The scene where Pearl cuddles her mother’s scorched corpse, and then brings said corpse, along with her father’s rotting corpse, to a dinner of maggot-infested roasted pig? Her big, beautiful mind. Mia Goth is always on some freak shit. I love this woman.
