Citizen Kane

Really eloquent storytelling in a style that’s surprisingly modern. The camera movement, lighting, even the dialogue to an extent all feel a very familiar language as a modern audience far more than I think most films of the era. The story is interesting, confident, and creative with themes that still resonate today. Cinematography is excellent and again extremely modern and dramatic with fantastic frames popping up constantly. The more I sit with the film the more I’m appreciating it! Worth a watch for most - and maybe a second as its taken me a second watch (5yrs later) to really enjoy it. Watched on Citizen Kane’s 82nd anniversary of release🎂
