a breathtaking, relentless film. bounces seamlessly back and forth from New York to Paris to Tokyo all across the span of what feel like the most intense nine months of my life. this movie demands you keep your eye on the ball, and I could hardly look away.
timothee chalamet gives an absolutely commanding performance from start to finish. even beyond me being a chalamet glazer, his performance in this role completely makes up for all his big talk. he is bigger than words and larger than life in this film. without a doubt the best performance I’ve seen this year. give him his Oscar so he can go on to make something even crazier.
the soundtrack for this movie is also ridiculous and absurd in the best ways possible. they use frog noises in the same breath they use heavy organs and choirs. incredible. the camerawork is also stellar, I’m in love with the way this movie is shot and the way it looks.
is this my movie of the year??? i think so??? maybe the craziest opening title sequence of all time too.
