The Secret Agent

remarkable. a poignant, sincere, funny, and strangely tender grappling with how easily truth, decency, and humanity is lost in the violent, tumultuous history of industrialism, nationalism, and fascism. Wagner is commanding and so full of heart. structurally fascinating, hypnotic even. this movie is so symbolically rich and dense, parsing through everything and making sense of it would take at least another watch or two—which I would happily do! if you can find a theater playing this, go!
