Normal People
A phenomenal movie.
I'm a bit speechless honestly but there are no words I could use to describe how gut wrenching and poetic every scene was.
I truly believe that this isn't the ending of their story, they're going to find each other in ten years, when things are right and true for both of them as separate individuals.
I had guessed from halfway through that they would not end up together in the end, and then I had hope and then the dreaded 'happy ending but there's still 15 minutes let's.
They'll do better in their 30's than in their 20's 1000%
Seeing theses individuals be so vulnerable and sensitive to the things around them was a knife to my heart constantly
Marianne was so tied to her trauma and abusive family, and we see that manifest itself in the way she lets other men treat her.
Conell was trapped in a vicious anxiety cycle that made him constantly feel trapped and misunderstood.
They both essentially felt like outsiders in places where they should have ideally 'fit' and finding eachother over and over again was just the light at the end of the tunnel that seemed 3 times long with every step taken.
Two deeply intelligent and emotional people who cannot communicate efficiently enough for the life of them, what more could a yearner ask for.
I didn't expect a decade long story when I started this series but I am thoroughly satisfied
