Thief
You talking to me or somebody else walk in this room?
Might be the coolest movie ever made. Awesome soundtrack and awesome cinematography. The vault scene is so fucking cool, honestly might be one of my favorite scenes ever.
Frank’s relationship with Jessie is a unique but sweet one. They have some great moments of dialogue discussing the purpose of their lives; should Jessie want the boring but stable and safe life or should she take the chance on Frank, a man who obviously paves his own path and is constantly at risk of having his path destroyed but surely will bring a much more exciting and perhaps fulfilling life? It’s a great subplot that keeps the film interesting in its moments of tranquility.
Even still, the tense moments; in the heists, police station, etc. are the moments I find the best. The film explores a common trope of stories. The master thief who gets roped into doing a heist that’s risky by a man who’s quite sketchy all because of greed. Still, Thief provides an entirely unique experience through stylistic choices and excellent acting within a wonderfully written character. Overall, just such an awesome watching experience that is such a vibe because of the awesome style.
