Ritual
a beautiful, melancholic, distressing and yet heartwarming piece of art. i want to dissect this and watch it a few more times. might be one of my new favourite films. i’ve never seen such a beautifully directed, acted and shot film that is also so unique in the way it’s structured and the way in which the film plays out.
the majority of this film is a monologue, from the director, as he observes the girl and her life and begins to learn more about her which really connects the audience to both characters in a way i’ve never before experienced when watching a film.
the use of colour in this is absolutely stunning and every single shot and camera movement is so unique in it’s framing and pallete that i can’t help but love it.
