Dune

I love this film so much. I do prefer Part Two a tad more but there’s honestly not that much in it. Visually breathtaking, performed magnificently and directed in a manner wholly unique. As an introduction to this world (which it was for me), it doesn’t get much better than this. You can tell how much inspiration other series and franchises took from this, and the way Denis directs works as both a phenomenal introduction but I can imagine a sense of familiarity for long time fans of the story. There’s multiple moments where my jaw was on the floor looking at how the film is shot. Greig Fraser’s cinematography is beyond special and without it, this film would be nowhere near as special. The story is actually relatively simple but the way it develops and establishes what’s to come next is unlike anything else I’ve seen. Can’t wait to revisit Part 2!!!
