You can tell this is a labor of love for Del Toro.  His set design and emotional thru-line of love in monstrosities shines through as bright as the sun that Adam feels for the first time.  My only issues are that the monster is too sympathetic, he was far more vengeful in the book.  The message is hammered through your skull as well. Jacob Elordi’s performance was beautiful and horrifying.  His physicality progression was so well done, he is the star of this movie. This movie is great for people with both Mommy AND Daddy issues
